It is part of the vision and mission of ×îÉ«µ¼º½ that all students need a planned programme of activities to help them choose progression routes that are appropriate for them in order that they are able to manage their careers, sustain employability and achieve personal and economic wellbeing; thus, they are prepared for life in modern Britain. It is committed to providing a planned programme of impartial careers education and information, advice and guidance for all learners in Years 7-11, in partnership with the agencies, educational establishments and employers and to providing extra support, as required, for vulnerable learners and those with additional needs.

Our Work-Related Learning Coordinator and designated Careers Lead is Mrs Qureshi, who coordinates the day-to day delivery of the careers programme. Mrs Qureshi works closely with the school’s career adviser, Ms Cooper from Career Connect, who delivers career guidance interviews to all our Year 11 students where they receive personalised guidance about their post 16 routes. is a charity that works to drive social mobility and raise aspirations. They empower young people with the confidence, skills, and knowledge to move forward in education, training, and employment. The CEIAG programme includes school visits, work experience placements, careers fair, STEM sessions, exhibitions, post 16 workshops (on colleges / sixth form / apprenticeships and traineeship and T levels) and inspirational speakers. Mrs Qureshi is available for consultation on the first floor of the Crossley building. There is also a drop-in session during break and lunch time if students have any questions on careers or post 16 options.

We are delighted to have been accredited with the Inspiring IAG (Information and Guidance) Gold award, which recognises our quality careers education, information and guidance.
Participation of Young People in Education, Employment or Training
The law now requires all young people in England to continue in education or training until at least their 18th birthday. Statutory guidance published by the Department of Education which explains the legal position can be accessed .
Measuring the Impact of our Careers Programme
We measure and report the impact of our careers programme in a number of ways.
The school works closely with Manchester City Council and captures Year 11 destination data each year. We work with students to encourage them to aspire to achieve a positive destination and future career pathway. We analyse the impact of our work through the destination data to monitor students transition to post 16 pathways and on the reduced number of students who find themselves to be Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).
All the careers events are measured for impact and feedback is taken regularly from participating students, staff and organisations delivering the events. The results help us further develop our careers provision in school.
Parents and carers are also invited to feedback on our careers programme which guides us to plan for future career related work.
